Nozzle is the part used to spray auxiliary gas in fiber laser cutting machine, and the common nozzle sizes are 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 and 2.5. The choice of nozzle size depends on the thickness of the cutting material and the cutting needs.
Generally, when cutting thin materials, a smaller nozzle, such as 1.4 or 1.6, can be selected to obtain a finer cut. Whereas, when cutting thicker plates, a larger nozzle (e.g. 1.8 or larger) is required to eliminate dross generated during the cutting process.
